After heading to Lake Como on Day 1, we took a train to Florence from Milan Central Station. We stayed in this lovely airbnb at Firenze Campo Di Marte station, which is one stop away from Firenze Santa Marie Novella (the main train station).
Call me biased but I always found Florence really romantic! And we were blessed with brilliant weather and lovely sunsets both days we were there. It’s like the sun painted the sky in magnificent hues of fiery red and crimson! It was so stunning just watching the colours transformed. The city is laid back and there wasn’t much to do since I was back there for the 3rd time in five years. We spent our days walking around leisurely and exploring the familiar streets once again. The highlights below 🙂
German Christmas Market at Basilica di Santa Croce di Firenze
Around Ponte Santa Trinita
Piazzale Michelangelo
Duomo
The good thing about Florence is that everything is within around 20 minutes walking distance – like from our airbnb to the Duomo or from Ponte Santa Trinita to Piazzale Michelangelo.
Time of the Year: We went in the first week of December and the average temperature was around 8 to 12 degrees in the day.
